We provide health, family, residential, and workforce services at 11 locations throughout Greater Cleveland, creating life-changing solutions for people to lead healthier and more successful lives. 

 

Our Workforce Center impacts local communities through the linkage of underserved job seekers with local employers through our culturally competent job readiness training, case management, national third party certifications, job placements and retention support with a large network of corporate partners. Through our training tracks in Customer Service, Hospitality, Pharmacy, and general job readiness in both English and Spanish, we are able to provide essential skills to our job seekers and to help prepare them for success in today’s workplace

 About the Role

Job Summary: The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that clients receive excellent customer service and support throughout their participation in the program and employment.  The coordinator will act proactively to ensure smooth team operations within their team and across teams. The coordinator will provide training, regular supervision, and manage staff activities to meet contracted outcomes. The Workforce Coordinator will support their team in balancing caseloads, supporting data collection and entry, and preparing report drafts for approval. On-boards new staff in operations and guides them in new responsibilities to assist clients to successfully complete federally mandated hours and fulfill all contracted benchmarks.

 

Job Qualifications

  • HSD/GED with 3 years of demonstrated experience effectively leading teams who work collaboratively and independently.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant exposure to or experience working with clients experiencing challenges to gaining and sustaining employment.
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and electronic database systems.
  • Experience successfully managing outcomes and meeting organizational goals by set deadlines.
  • Experience managing virtual meetings and instructional platforms.
  • Requires availability for evening and weekend hours due to the needs of El Barrio and its clients.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) a plus.

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in staff selection process, onboarding, and training for all new hires.
  • Continues educational support and training and development for all staff, including ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinates staff’s daily activities.
  • Understands and implements all aspects of contracted services and ensures ongoing compliance throughout the contract period to meet contractual benchmarks.
  • Collects, tracks, interprets, and analyzes a large volume of program data and prepares funder reports by deadlines, thoroughly and accurately for El Barrio Leadership team, as required.
  • Suggests and implements improvements to ensure outstanding client satisfaction as reported on satisfaction surveys.
  • Fills in, as needed, in any activity to support staff and ensure seamless service to clients.
  • Works cooperatively with County, other agencies, and provider staff to support and monitor referrals, communicating with them and providing requisite information as needed.
  • Aligns all activities to support El Barrio’s goal of preparing diverse and qualified job seekers for career pathway opportunities.
  • Coordinates, engages and recruits employers to participate in programming and hiring qualified candidates.
