Position Summary: The Inside Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of School Sales in generating revenue and maintaining customer relationships for the company. They assist in managing sales activities, coordinating with customers and internal teams, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to contribute to the overall sales efforts and customer satisfaction.  

  

What you’ll do: 

  • Assist in the procurement process for product and services 
  • Data Entry all School orders; check delivery dates; check delivery address; check po #’s 
  • Assist in updating Route sheet sent to school district 
  • Process purchase orders 
  • Monitor performance assessing ability to meet quality and delivery requirements 
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures 
  • Communicate with schools and resolve any issues that may arise 
  • Assist in inventory management and control working with procurement team and warehouse manager 
  • Assist in preparing reporting including cost analysis; HISD pivot tables; HISD weekly pricing; Velocity report; Month end reports; 
  • Discuss new accounts, customer related issues, sales targets, new products, etc. 
  • Research potential leads, support Director of School Sales reps where necessary 
  • Maintain communication with Director of School Sales reps and management with important account information 
  • Ensure that you report to work on time with a professional attitude. 
  • Receive incoming calls from customers and emails, prepare orders and expedite. 
  • Suggest and sell additional items over the phone. 
  • Inform customers of items not ordered or out of stock per regular ordering process offering subs where available. 
  • Inform customers on late trucks and deliveries; 
  • Review accuracy of incoming orders, collect and input orders submitted via fax, email; 
  • Assist Districts with Accounting department with signed invoices; credits; RMA’s; and Usage report 

 

About you: 

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma. 
  • Previous food service distribution Inside Sales/Customer Service and/or call center experience preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of food service products, product categories and vendor community preferred. 
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude. 
  • Excellent verbal, telephone and written communication skillsData entry and 10-key experience required. 
  • Self-motivated, professional, goal oriented and able to handle multiple tasks. 
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work under pressure. 
  • Flexibility: ability to work well with all departments and levels of staff both internally & externally. 
  • Follow-through skills a must.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
