Direct the planning and delivery of top-tier janitorial service – become our Janitorial Events Manager and lead with precision!

Position Purpose: The Janitorial Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of all athletic facilities. This role ensures that all facilities are in excellent condition before and after athletic events, including games and special events. This manager also coordinates and manages preseason cleanings of each stadium and field, ensuring APPA level 1 standards of cleanliness and readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Preparation and Cleanup:

    • Coordinate and supervise janitorial staff to ensure all athletic facilities are thoroughly cleaned and maintained before, during, and after games and events.

    • Develop and implement cleaning schedules for each event, ensuring timely and efficient preparation and cleanup.

    • Conduct inspections of facilities pre-, during, and post-event to ensure they meet cleanliness and safety standards.

  2. Preseason Cleaning Management:

    • Plan and oversee comprehensive preseason cleaning for all stadiums and fields, ensuring they are in top condition for the upcoming season.

    • Work closely with customers and stakeholders to adhere to facility readiness deadlines.

    • Work closely with the facilities maintenance team to address any repairs or maintenance issues identified during the cleaning process.

  3. Staff Management:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise janitorial staff, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.

    • Schedule and manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for all events and cleaning operations.

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff.

  1. Inventory and Supplies Management:

    • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary materials are available for each event.

    • Order supplies as needed and manage the budget for janitorial operations.

  2. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all cleaning operations comply with university policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols for janitorial staff, ensuring a safe working environment.

  3. Communication and Coordination:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for janitorial services related to athletic events.

    • Coordinate with event organizers, university athletic operations team, facilities management, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.

    • Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in facilities management, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience in janitorial management, preferably in a large-scale events or athletic facilities setting.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and staff members effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and best practices.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule.
