Plant and Equipment Technician (Greenville)
Position Overview
The Plant and Equipment Technician assists the efficiency and effectiveness of The Blood Connection by ensuring the building (plant) and equipment are in proper working order and items are in good quantity and in a neat and organized manner. The Plant and Equipment Technician assists the Facilities Manager with managing the company’s physical assets (plant) which include property, buildings, operational equipment, and fleet vehicles.
Essential Functions
Facilities:
- Helps oversee proper maintenance and documentation of maintenance of the company’s landscaping, irrigation systems, parking areas, exterior lighting, exterior displays (signs, marques, etc.), waste handling area, outside maintenance areas, and other items related to upkeep of the company’s real property; including scheduling of maintenance work and when qualified, performing certain maintenance procedures
- Helps maintain and document maintenance of the company’s building including scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified performing certain maintenance procedures
- Assists operational staff in scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified perform certain maintenance procedures, and assists operational staff in the record keeping of such maintenance when required
- Assists in proper maintenance and documentation of maintenance of the company’s fleet vehicles and schedules mechanic services, and when qualified performs mechanic work on the fleet vehicles
- Courier duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned or required
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical/Vocational School for Building Maintenance or Material Management preferred
- One-year related experience
- CDL License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- Ability to read and follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
