(Summer Seasonal) Golf Shop Attendant
SUMMARY
The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Golf Pro Shop. The candidate should possess a knowledge of the game of golf and deliver excellent customer service. The candidate needs to have excellent organizational and communication skills, and must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. S/he must be self-motivated , show initiative and be able to work both independently and as a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Opening and closing the Pro Shop
- Accounting for monies that pass through Golf Pro Shop
- Preparing daily deposits and reports
- Providing exemplary customer service which includes but is not limited to greeting members and public, answering the phone, fielding and directing inquiries
- Sales/processing of memberships, green fees, cart rentals, and inventory along with recording of all such sales as directed
- Working with Director of Golf, Assistant Golf Professional and Retail/Merchandiser Director to maintain sufficient inventory and supplies
- Booking tee times
- Registering golfers for league play and tournaments
- Assisting with tournament and event organization
- Communicating with grounds staff any tournament preparation and course closures
- Rotating and cleaning golf carts
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of Pro Shop
- Maintain dress code
- Notify Director of Golf and Assistant Golf Professional of any concerns or problem
QUALIFICATIONS

- Preferred knowledge in a Point-of-Sale system.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Prior work experience with a golf course, seasonal business and/or the hospitality industry is highly preferred. Will train.
REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible working availability including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Detail Oriented
- Must enjoy working and interacting with the public

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Requires possession of valid Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort insurance carrier. Must have own reliable mode of transportation.
