General knowledge:

  1. Able to perform all maintenance/ inspection required for all applicable fixed grip, detachable grip and surface lifts
  2. Level 2 NDT inspector or higher
  3. Understands carrier spacing, anti-collision, and tower safety functions
  4. Understands lift physics, insurance inspections and service bulletins
  5. Proficient in complex rigging and heavy lifting scenarios
  6. Ability to correctly inspect and diagnose gearboxes and components
  7. Competent in all applicable detachable grip maintenance, inspection, and repair procedures
  8. Understands tension systems and brake systems.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; but not limited to:

  1. Troubleshooting and repairs of lift components, both mechanical and hydraulic
  2. Actively involved in lift emergency procedures and time dependent repairs
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose low voltage, aux controls, light industrial control systems, and commercial equipment
  4. Manage small crews and projects
  5. Performing inspections and servicing as prescribed by manufactures or governing bodies
  6. Assembling and testing machines to verify correction of malfunction
  7. Troubleshooting and repairs of lift related controls including carrier spacing, anti-collision, and tower safety systems
  8. Troubleshoot tension systems, brake systems and hydraulic height adjustable stations
  9. Proficient in tower alignment/ line work, brake adjustments, sheave rebuilding/ replacement, terminal adjustments, and carrier/grip work
  10. Ability to oversee, direct and instruct Level I and Level II Mechanics in all aspects pertaining to lifts.
  11. Responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing, and management of all technical work, inspection, maintenance and other documents, logs, records and work procedures.

 

Qualifications

  1. Education: Required High School or better.
  2. Previous ski lift maintenance or equivalent experience
  3.  Valid Driver's License
  4.  NDT Level 2 certification

 

Safety knowledge:

  1. Ability to perform mountain rescue procedures
  2. Comprehensive understanding ANSI B77 codes

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tools or controls. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 10-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 100 lbs. or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying up to 50lbs.  Must be capable of frequent climbing movements, walking on uneven terrain, walking on snow and ice, skiing and operating a snowmobile.  Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions:

  1. Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. As well as indoors in the repair shop or lift stations. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places. They will be occasionally exposed to extreme hot/cold and wet conditions, noise, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electric shock. Employee will be required to work on uneven and limited footing locations. Working surfaces can be loose or slippery as well.
  2. Hazardous Materials/Noise: Employee will often be in contact with hazardous substances. The noise level in the work place is usually loud.
  3. Equipment Used in Job: Snowmobile, ATV, side by side, trucks, all mechanical tools (hand and power) ropes and rigging, cutting tools: chop saw, plasma cutter, cutting torch
