SUMMARY

Waterfront Dockhands are responsible for providing a positive and memorable experience to our guests through safety and positivity. Waterfront Dockhands will help ensure that all equipment is safe and clean for each guest. Waterfront Dockhands will help manage all equipment and docking spaces with guidance from the Waterfront Manager and Waterfront Supervisor. Applicants should love water, being outside and engaging with guests. Experience operating both inboard and outboard boats is preferred. Experience participating in watersports such as waterskiing, wake surfing, and wakeboarding is a plus.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cleaning and safety checks on all equipment. Maintain dock system and moorings.
  • Proper training on safe operation of all equipment for guests and employees.
  • Cash counting and operation and maintenance of POS systems.
  • Check in and check out renters.
  • Assist guests with their boat docking and tie up service needs.
  • Clean and fuel vessels.
  • Track fuel consumption and bill accordingly for each reservation.
  • Full or part time (seasonal).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Work weekends and holidays.
  • Work during rainy or windy conditions.
  • Prior boat operation skills, US boater’s safety certificate a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications a plus. CPR training will be provided by the resort if needed.
  • Clean driving record.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Requires possession of valid Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort insurance carrier.  Must have own reliable mode of transportation.
