SUMMARY
Provides Tamarack guests with a superior educational experience on the snow. Effective performance will ensure the best possible recreational experience for our guests. A Ski instructor will show enthusiasm for skiing and will enjoy educating all ages and ability levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver a safe and enjoyable skiing experience for guests.
- Encourage guests to take advantage of any ski school or resort product that will enhance their recreation experience.
- Teach ski skills to both adults and children either as a group or individually as assigned by the supervisory staff.
- Exhibit a positive model to our guests in areas of customer service, punctuality, grooming, and work quality.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and teach both adults and children in a safe manner.
- Take in information and feedback in order to develop personal skiing and teaching styles while demonstrating a high level of class management skills.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
- Work independently to develop lesson plans.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must enjoy working and interacting with the public
- Ski at least at an intermediate level.
- Own ski equipment
- Ability to multitask
- Must be over 14 years of age
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Three years related experience and/or training in the ski business preferred but new instructors are encouraged to apply; prefer PSIA or ISIA certified in ski instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience. For those without PSIA or ISIA certified, training will be done in house.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
