Women's Health - Program Supervisor (Bilingual in Spanish Required)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Cancer Detection and Management Program (CDMP) Manager, the CDP Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the SYHealth’s Cancer Detection and Management Program (CDMP) activities and objectives are met within appropriate timelines, guidelines, and requirements. Key responsibilities include assistance in technical and programmatic aspects of the CDMP program, including the assistance in the development of work plans, tracking productivity, and planning of resources as it relates to program incentives and outreach events. This position is also responsible for assisting in maintaining relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet program goals. In addition to provide daily (direct and/or indirect) supervision to cancer detection program case managers at assigned clinic sites; as well as data management/reporting.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Under the guidance of the Cancer Detection and Management Program (CDMP) Manager, assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive CDMP, enrollment & retention plan designed to attract, enroll, and retain new and existing patients.
- Strengthens new and existing relationships with organizations, agencies, and businesses for the CDMP department and for SYHealth.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a patient engagement and advocacy program to increase SYHC patient CDMP services utilization and involvement in clinic activities.
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the CDMP case managers ensuring compliance with performance standards.
- Act as a point of contact, when appropriate, in the internal communication plan to keep SYH staff and management informed of the CDMP program guidelines, updates, and/or changes, health insurance eligibility updates, and department activities.
- Work with IT department and other appropriate departments to assist in the creation and maintenance of reliable and efficient data collection and analysis system for gathering and monitoring of all CDMP program data and performance indicators. Tracks, updates, and reports with data collection instruments and databases to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conducts community education and outreach regarding cancer in general and women’s health issues, as well as assistance, education, and guidance to individuals/families as needed.
- Assists in the collection, preparation, and submission (or as instructed) reports to funding entities, or the department management by agreed upon deadlines.
- Updates CDMP policies and procedures, as appropriate.
- Interviews, trains, and monitors accuracy, efficiency, and productivity of staff to ensure compliance with departmental, CDMP program, and government performance standards. Includes conducting competency exams, assessments, quality assurance, and performance reviews. In addition to spearheading development and mentorship and team building initiatives for the staff, demonstrating proficiency in imparting disciplinary actions, when necessary, to ensure the cultivation of a high-performing and cohesive team.
- Represent SYH in an effective and professional manner and maintain positive working relationships with the public, clients, patients, co-workers, management, and other agencies.
- Coordinates the CDMP case managers clinic and/or job assignments.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that CDMP case managers are in compliance with Every Woman Counts program, as well as state and federal regulations including maintaining confidentiality of all applicant and patient information; completion of all required training; passing all required tests, avoidance of all indirect, perceived or direct conflicts of interest; immediate reporting of instances of conflict of interest or fraud and all other requirements included in pertinent regulations. Maintain staff training log including dates of completed trainings/certifications.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of SYHealth cancer detection and maintenance program with emphasis in Women’s Health with education activities as needed. Specifically, solicit participation from SYHC outreach departments, prepare and submit registration applications, submit plant support and/or IT request.
- Attends meetings, trainings and community events as required and participates on community committees/coalitions as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
Education Required (Minimum level of education):
- Bachelor's degree in a Health and Human Services or related field.
Certifications/Licenses Required:
- CA driver’s license with access to an insured vehicle.
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):
- A minimum of 1 year of program management, supervisory and/or leadership experience demonstrating team motivation, time management, attention to detail, initiative, communication, decision making, and problem solving. A minimum of 1 year of Healthcare Administration experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of case management experience working with low- income/disadvantaged communities, with an emphasis on women’s health and/or cancer detection program and/or public benefit enrollment assistance will be considered in lieu of program management/supervisory experience.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English). Good verbal and written communication in both languages.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office software. Superb organizational ability and exceptionally analytical.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
May be required to work irregular hours. May work weekends as required for education, training, and health events (both internal and external). Prolonged periods of sitting, and constant walking and standing. Driving and travel required to visit SYHealth clinic locations, internal and external organizations, and to diverse areas of the County for outreach and preventive health events.
