SURVEILLANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose:

Installs, maintains and services surveillance equipment

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

1. Installs, maintains and services surveillance equipment by routinely inspecting closed circuit cameras, repairing or replacing defective parts, performing preventative maintenance on cables and wires, submitting requisitions for new and/or replacement equipment, replacing cables and wires if required, and periodically cleaning camera domes and lenses. - 70%
2. Maintains safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools. - 20%
3. Advises Surveillance Director or Surveillance Technician Manager regarding new applications or areas needing improvement by maintaining a familiarity with all surveillance equipment available and keeping up to date on new products and technology. - 10%

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 year experience in maintenance and repair of electronic systems and equipment

Desirable:

• Completion of a two-year technical school or Associates Degree in Electronics
• Computer and network certification

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:     

• Ability to use tools of the trade including diagnostic and machine testing equipment
• Ability to do repetitive manual tasks for up to eight hours at a time
• Ability to read and translate wiring diagrams and schematics
• Working knowledge of electronics and surveillance-related circuitry and switching
• Ability to regularly lift 75 lbs
• Ability to appear for work on time
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members
• Organizational skills
• Detail-orientation
• Ability to install equipment in either existing or new construction locations without harming surrounding decor
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
• Ability to perform with minimum supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
• Ability to work in a smoking environment
• Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
• Ability to compose written documents in the English language

Desirable: 

• Knowledge of Closed Circuit Television electronics
• Experience installing Closed Circuit Television or related equipment and systems
• Computer network administration/engineering experience.
• Gaming experience in related field
