What does a Quality Maintenance Specialist do at Swire Coca-Cola?
Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a team culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent is a member of the Quality Structure Team and has accountability for maintenance activities in the Syrup, Sanitation and Lab departments. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with the Quality department leadership team to ensure there are robust people management practices, highly capable teams, and space for effective coaching and communication across all shifts. These goals are achieved through building and maintaining plans and standards, developing 24-hour action plans, setting priorities, and allocating resources to eliminate losses in safety, quality, planned downtime with a special emphasis on breakdowns and defects in the 3 departments and the water treatment system (at sites where applicable). The incumbent must ensure collaboration with the Quality leadership team to develop a robust annual maintenance plan and a long-term capital plans.
Job Details:
Schedule: 6am - 4:30pm (Mon - Fri, additional OT and weekends, as needed)
Responsibilities:
- Provides 24-hour multiple shift accountability meeting the Quality Department maintenance needs for batching, CIP, lab analysis and water treatment. High priority given to: safety, quality, production, delivery, cost, morale and capability building in the Quality Department. Ensures appropriate metrics are in place, monitored and communicated for DMS’s/ Standards owned
- Provides key data for maintenance processes and breakdown losses during routine direction setting meetings (DDS, WDS, and MDS) by gathering and inputting data onto the Direction Setting boards, performing Health Checks for owned Daily Managment Systems, and presenting the data during the Direction Setting meetings
- Gathers data, populates the DDS board, and speaks to the data for the BDE (breakdown elimination) and MP&S (Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling) DMS’s
- Actively participates in creating action plans to drive out losses for the team
- Key player on the Quality Structure Team in executing the 90-day plans to eliminate losses using IWS tools, IWS standards, and the department annual maintenance plan
- Owns the Daily Management Systems processes in the Quality Department for BD card, IDA (In-Depth-analysis), MP&S, Defect Handling (tracks all defects found and oversees the planning of defects to be fixed)
- Coaches in the use of IPS, UPS, BD card, and IDA tools in driving out losses within the Quality Department focusing on the water treatment and maintenance areas
- Oversees the water treatment system (site specific). Plans and performs routine maintenance on water systems such as filter changes, probe calibrations, steaming of carbon towers, maintaining chorine systems, acid injection systems, and anti-scaling systems
- Provides development and coaching to team members to build and maintain a performance driven culture; leads by example
- Lead and monitor correct CIP system adherence and execution on all lines and train others as needed to adequately lead CIP functions when away
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED) required
- Bachelor's Degree Technical certification or equivalent experience preferred preferred
- 2+ years Progressive experience in beverage production, maintenance, and/or warehouse operations required
- 2+ years Manufacturing/Operations experience and Bachelor’s degree / technical certification required or
- 4+ years Manufacturing/Operations experience and High School diploma/GED required
- Knowledge of data analytics and appropriate KPI’s for measurement of manufacturing systems
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to manage and respond to issues when needed for a 24/7 operation
- Preferred, basic ability to use Microsoft Office 365 applications and theory of operation
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
