Position Title:             Store Associate                      

 

Exempt Status:          Non Exempt

 

Accountable To:         Store Manager

 

Job Summary:            The Store Associate is responsible for greetingshoppers, answering questions, and helping guests locate products. Store associates should learn about new products quickly and makes recommendations. The associate is also responsible for stocking shelves, organizing displays, and checking customers out on the cash register.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service
  • Assist in-store customers with their specific needs
  • Assist business customers with their business needs
  • Assist employees with purchases
  • Answering questions specific to the needs of the order
  • Taking customer payment at register using Keystroke system
  • Resolve customer issues independently
  • Answering phones and taking orders at various times of the day

 

  1. Customer Orders
  • Utilize computer system to input customer orders
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives and assist with customer orders
  • Maintain customer order organization

 

  1. Merchandising
  • Restock shelves with product daily as needed
  • Merchandise and price damaged goods to attract customers to purchase
  • Ensure all products are priced and weighed  and/or displayed accurately
  • Assist in maintaining a store that is kept neat and clean at all times

 

  1. Operational Duties
  • Balance change drawers prior to store opening
  • Restock change to ensure adequate amounts are available during operation hours
  • Generate reports from prior day’s transactions including but not limited to register and window calls
  • End of day deposit prepared for next day
  • Successful completion of closing checklist performed each day prior to store lock-up

 

  1. Miscellaneous Duties
  • Prepare food for customer and employee lunches daily (Goshen only)
  • Load customers with product as needed
  • All other assigned duties

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  2. Computer word processing and spreadsheet experience

  4. Pleasant personality and able to relate to people well
  5. Comfortable taking cash payments
  6. Ability to ask customers open ended questions to resolve their needs
  7. Ability to work under pressure and maintain a customer oriented environment
  8. Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities under pressure
  9. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities with little or no supervision
  10. Sit, stand, and lift up to 100 pounds
  11. Collaborate and work as a team

 

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Previous retail experience is a plus
