Position Title: Sanitation
Exempt Status: Non Exempt
Accountable To: Director of Food Safety, Quality and Compliance
Job Summary: The warehouse sanitation worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. This includes all warehouse areas. The warehouse sanitation worker will follow a daily sanitation schedule to ensure that all areas of the warehouse are consistently cleaned. In this role, all food safety procedures will be followed in order to ensure that the facility is prepared for any regulatory compliance audits. It is necessary for warehouse sanitation employees to possess strong organizational skills and be self-motivated. As part of the job requirements, candidates must be able to bend, lift heavy objects, and operate powered industrial trucks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain all warehouse cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Remove broken pallets and ensure broken pallet area is kept organized and clean.
- Responsible for food safety by following company’s food safety programs.
- Follow all company SSOP’s.
- Ensure all chemicals are stored in their designated location and maintained locked.
- Complete sanitation required per the daily tasks assigned, may include sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming, emptying trash containers, spills, amongst others as needed.
- Complete MSS per the schedule.
- Complete documentation assigned.
- Perform seasonal ground duties including trash pickup, trimming weeds, cleaning windows, pressure washing sidewalks, and leaf removal as needed.
- Operate power equipment and ensure safety regulations are followed.
- Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process.
- Perform other general warehouse and office cleaning duties as needed.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Required Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma
- Strong sense of Safety.
- Be able to read, write and speak English.
- Good communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with Supervisors, Managers and Directors.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse preferred.
- Previous sanitation experience preferred.
- Previous experience operating power equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.
- Display good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated and freezer work environment.
Machines, Tools & Equipment:
Floor scrubber, electric and/or manual pallet jacks, forklifts, cleaning equipment and chemicals
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- The warehouse sanitation employee is required to work in an environment that undergoes extreme temperature changes, from warm, cold to freezing.
- Dirt and dust.
- Noise.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
- Standing or walking through the entire day.
- Bending and stooping.
- Pushing and pulling pallet jacks.
Schedule:
- Full-time
- Monday - Friday
- 6:00am - 2:30pm
- No weekends
- OT as requested
