Summary
The Senior Healthcare Program Specialist will support the Bureau of Health Access, Policy, and Innovation (BHAPI) with a focus on New York State Medicaid's Primary Care structure, reimbursement, and policy initiatives. The candidate is responsible to become a resource for the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Program and provide support and guidance to its members by monitoring and maintaining the bureau mailbox system with timely responses to inquiries, troubleshoot reimbursement payments related to PCMH incentives, assist with initiatives related to the PCMH program. The senior healthcare program specialist will assist with written and verbal communications, such as creating meeting agendas, facilitate meeting/sessions, tracking and following up on action items, and manage and produce correspondence on behalf of the program as requested. Provide support for program development and evolution of transition to Making Care Primary and Value-Based Payment initiatives. Assist with research and the development of Primary Care strategies that will foster Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM) program goals. Participate in educational programs and presentations that will support program development and advancement. Participate in BHAPI programs to provide support in other areas as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Healthcare experience in program policy, Medicaid and Medicare
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting
Basic Qualifications:
- 9 years of experience in healthcare
- An associate degree in a related field can count for 2 years of experience, a Bachelor’s can count for 4 years of experience, and a Master’s can count for 5 years of experience.
- Must be a United States Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States to be considered Ideally, this person will have:
*Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
