Summary 

This is a full-time position with the NYS Medicaid Program’s Bureau of Provider Enrollment (BPE).  This position is in a high-volume production environment and will be responsible for processing healthcare provider applications in eMedNY, which is the Department’s enrollment system, in compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, and policies.  

Additional Requirements/Requests

1. Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in healthcare related field,1-2 years’ experience in public health insurance programs
2. Strong computer navigation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
3. Previous data entry and data validation experience (Preferred)
4. Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work assignments in a high-volume production environment.
5. Ability to be flexible, innovative, and work independently with minimal supervision.
6. Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
7. Previous office experience in a health care, health insurance, and/or public or non-profit sectors (Preferred)

Basic Responsibilities:

• Review provider enrollment documents for completeness;
• Document, request and follow up on missing information;
• Verify information by searching internal databases and navigating the internet to access external databases;
• Perform data entry, including saving data and verifying saved data;
• Create and maintain documentation;
• Assist providers and their representatives with the enrollment process, both via telephone and in writing;
• Meet production and quality standards; and

• Work on special projects, once proficient and if needed

  Position and Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 years’ experience in healthcare field, or
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the four (4) years’ experience, or
• An associate degree in a related field may be substituted for the two (2) years of experience.
