Duties Description:
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of the Center for the Master Plan for the Aging, the Senior Healthcare Program Specialist will:
- Support the Director and Deputy Director in assessing and analyzing the aging and long-term care ecosystem in New York State necessary to inform state policy decisions and recommendations for the State’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA).
- Conduct research and assessment of existing gaps in services and supports needed by New York’s older adults and those with disabilities to inform MPA recommendations.
- Synthesize research and data, using research skillsets to provide recommendations to eliminate barriers and increase access to quality, affordable, and accessible care and services to aging recipients.
- Assist with the review and drafting of new/revised regulations to support aging in place.
- Create implementation strategies and evaluation tools for new and revised programs to support the healthcare and service needs of aging New Yorkers.
- Coordinate across state agencies including NYSOFA, OPWDD, OMH, OTDA and others to align long term care policy and program implementation and integration.
- Assist with the facilitation of stakeholder committees and workgroups to identify aging and long-term care needs and align statewide goals with stakeholder request and needs
- Synthesize information from stakeholder committees and workgroups to develop actionable recommendations and draft reports as required under the Master Plan for Aging
- Other relevant duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· 9 years’ experience in health care field**
· Master’s degree in health care related field plus 5 years health care or social service experience or 5 years subject matter expertise
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of and/or experience conducting gap analysis in the healthcare continuum
· Experience facilitating large workgroups and teams
· Strong research and analytic skills
· Strong writing ability
· Ability to create tables, charts, and graphs based on data and policy analysis, trends and costs
· Ability to work independently and as part of high-level internal and external teams
Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
