Summary
The Bureau of Adult Special Populations (BASP) strives to support people with mental illness, substance use disorder, chronic illnesses, and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities to achieve maximum health, independence, and quality of life. Working closely with the Office of Mental Health (OMH), the Aids Institute (AI), the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the BASP cultivates excellence in collaboration, program development, special projects, and policy knowledge and implementation.
The BASP is seeking a passionate Medicaid Senior Healthcare Program Specialist to support the team in its mission and goals.
This contracted position exists within the BASP, under the Special Population Policy and Programming unit, which is responsible for the oversight of the Health Home (HH) Program. HH providers are monitored based on performance, quality, and compliance with Federal and State Standards.
Specific responsibilities include:
Works with the HH Program Liaisons to support Health Home operations and program
initiatives as follows:
- Plans, coordinates and participates in meetings with HH providers and stakeholders, and record minutes
- Supports HH Designation activities to ensure compliance through quality monitoring, oversight and technical assistance
- Collaborates with team lead(s) to research, develop and implement initiatives,
such as a statewide HH Care Manager training curriculum
- Evaluate individual HH performance and analyzing data to inform performance improvement projects
- Prepares a wide range of documents which may include presentations that serve as a vehicle for training and education about the HH program
- Assist with the implementation of program policies and procedures
- Perform administrative functions as assigned to support the Special Population Policy and Programming Unit
- Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of the Division
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize across multiple assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- The ability to think creatively and strategically in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- The ability to manage complex projects and deliverables.
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in health care related field to include research, health care policy, Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorders, or Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability, and quality monitoring or improvement projects.
- Education in the related field can be used for years of experience.
Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
