Summary

Research and analyze aging and long term care policy initiatives for the Center for Aging and Long Term Care Policy and Financial Initiatives within the Office of Aging and Long Term Care (OALTC) at the Department of Health. Assist Center leadership and staff with evaluating, making recommendations, and developing reports on various existing and proposed initiatives impacting long term care.

Basic Qualifications

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of policies and programs related to aging and long term care at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Gather and interpret aging and long term care data to inform policy decisions and program development.
  • Develop policy recommendations based on available research and best practices.
  • Participate in and lead special projects and assist in developing guidance documents.
  • Collaborate with partners in the Department of Health and across NYS Agencies delivering long term care to various populations including the aging as well as those who may be physically, behaviorally, mentally, intellectually, or developmentally disabled.
  • Interact with stakeholders across a broad cross-section of representative fields. Keep Office of Aging and Long Term Care colleagues and leadership apprised of developing trends, needs, and activities nationwide.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant legislation and budget proposals and provide recommendations as necessary.
  • Perform analysis and strategic planning to identify expenditure trends within the NYS Medicaid long term care services.
  • Prepare reports, policy briefs, and other documentation to share findings, recommendations, and policy impacts with OALTC leadership and external stakeholders.

 Desired Qualifications

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with writing and presenting comprehensive reports.
  • Possess an ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a group in a team-oriented environment.

 

Other Preferred Qualifications  

Preferred candidates will have a working knowledge of issues related to aging and long term services and supports as well as the various methods of financing these services.

 

Education

·       Bachelors’ degree in a related field

·       8 years of experience in a healthcare field

 

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
