POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for AR factoring settlements, monthly close reporting, government reporting and other accounting/financial analyses as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Monthly Close Process

  • Create and enter journal entries in SAP & AARO
  • Prepare account reconciliations

 

Accounts Receivable Factoring Settlements

  • Reconcile weekly RPA AR factoring roll
  • Prepare weekly ARF settlement
  • Generate corresponding journals for settlement

 

Government Reports

  • Manage the government report process
  • Ensure that all report deadlines are met

   

Internal Control Compliance

  • Verify journal entries meet internal control requirements

 

Purchase Card

  • Manage purchase card expense allocation for corporate division

 

Liaison with Auditors

  • Prepares reports for Auditors as required

 

Other Projects as assigned

  • Other projects and assignments as deemed necessary by the Finance Manager and Assistant Controller

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Competencies and Experience

 

Required:

  • Proficient and experienced in Microsoft Suite software with an emphasis in Excel formula creation and development of pivot tables to produce relevant analysis and results.

 

  • SAP knowledge a plus. AARO knowledge preferred but not required.

 

  • Strong knowledge of internal control concepts and principles

 

  • Able to work constructively and communicate effectively and concisely with management and accounting staff

 

  • Strong analytical and organization skills with the ability to diagnose a problem and implement corrective action

 

  • Effective competency in interpersonal and group facilitation, written and verbal communication presentation and change management

 

 

Education

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting.

 

Preferred:

  • CPA and MBA

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
