About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool 2 year old Assistant Teacher who will play a crucial role in maintaining a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about education and looking to advance their careers by eventually stepping into a lead teacher role.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will:

Foster positive social and emotional growth in students

Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure smooth classroom operations

Engage with parents or guardians to support student development

Help maintain a well-organized, vibrant, and interactive classroom

If a teaching position opens during the school year, the assistant teacher will be the first to step into the classroom role.
Responsibilities
-
Assist the lead teacher in planning, supervising, and implementing the curriculum in alignment with Park Maitland’s policies and procedures.

Step in as a substitute teacher when needed, ensuring continuity of learning.

Support classroom organization, including contributing to the classroom’s appearance and décor.

Participate actively in school events such as Parent/Student Orientation, Winter Programs, and Open Houses.

Maintain and contribute to classroom displays, including student artwork and bulletin boards.

Uphold a positive, non-punitive approach to classroom management, focusing on positive reinforcement.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to the school’s values and ethos, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
