PURPOSE

 

  • The Strategic Pricing Analyst will serve as a vital part of the organization in supporting strategic initiatives as well as work on ad-hoc pricing related projects. This entry-level position will assist with analytics that measure product profitability and support the development of pricing strategies and plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Responsible for pricing analysis, validation, data cleansing, collection and reporting
  • Retrieve and analyze information / data, including manual files, external websites and statistical metrics from various sources that support senior management decisions
  • Respond to informational / data inquiries from various groups within the organization
  • Analyze and validate sales quotations for accuracy and profitability
  • Perform margin and pricing analysis to support business initiatives
  • Liaison between SMC US and SMC JP for competitive pricing situations
  • Document reporting requirements, operational processes and validate data components is required
  • Create and publish regularly scheduled and/or ad hoc reports as needed

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

  • Position requires extensive work using a computer
  • Maintain seated posture for 8 or more hours per day
  • May require evening and weekend work in response to the needs of the systems being supported

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics or related analytical field
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, Macros and formulas).
