Position Overview:

SkyWater Technology is seeking an innovative and results-driven Photonics and Superconducting Platform Marketing Engineer to support the growth and commercialization of advanced technologies for quantum computing and next-generation computing applications. In this role, you will focus on market development, platform optimization, and go-to-market strategies for SkyWater’s photonics and superconducting platforms. This position combines technical expertise with strategic marketing to identify and address customer needs, shape platform roadmaps, and position SkyWater as a leader in emerging quantum and advanced computing ecosystems. This role requires a strong understanding of semiconductor technologies, photonics, superconducting materials, and the evolving quantum computing market. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and external partners.

 

Responsibilities:

Platform Development and Roadmapping

  • Own and maintain the platform roadmap for photonics and superconducting technologies, aligning with SkyWater’s market strategies and customer requirements.
  • Translate target market needs into technical requirements for platform development.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities for differentiation in quantum computing and next-generation computing markets.

Market Development and Strategy

  • Identify market opportunities for SkyWater’s offerings in quantum and next-generation computing applications.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to align technical capabilities with customer and market needs.
  • Support the strategic alignment of product roadmaps and market strategies to ensure long-term success.

Customer Engagement and Marketing Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert and communicate platform capabilities to internal and external audiences.
  • Support sales teams with technical expertise during customer engagements, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Develop and deliver marketing collateral, including technical product materials, white papers, and presentations.
  • Attend and participate in industry events to gather market insights and enhance SkyWater’s visibility in quantum computing and related markets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to align platform development with market demands.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on customer requirements and market trends to shape product offerings.

Key Goals and Objectives:

  • Develop and communicate a platform roadmap for quantum and next-generation computing technologies.
  • Identify and address market and customer needs to drive adoption of SkyWater’s photonics and superconducting offerings.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to assess and target new customer applications.
  • Create and maintain technical marketing collateral to support go-to-market strategies.
  • Track industry developments and ensure SkyWater remains competitive in quantum and next-generation computing markets.
  • Lead collaborative effort to build business case for future investments in this area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, materials science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor processing technology, IC design, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of photonics, superconducting materials, and quantum computing technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage platform roadmaps and support market development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with microfabrication technologies and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • U.S. Citizen Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
  • Travel Requirements: 10-25% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Phd in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience working in foundry services or semiconductor business development.
  • Knowledge of quantum computing architectures and applications.
  • Experience as a quantum processor designer or architect.

The annual salary range for this role is $131,840 - $197,760.  Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
