Position Summary:

The EH&S manager is responsible for refining and overseeing the performance and growth of EHS Programs at SkyWater Minnesota, with emphasis on Health and Safety. The EHS Manager has key responsibilities for ensuring compliance with state and federal legislation as applicable to the organization and managing the critical relationships and permits with regulatory agencies. This position will be responsible to create, implement and monitor EHS strategies to promote a safe and healthy workplace for our employees.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable and responsible for implementing Health and Safety (ISO45001) Management Systems at the facility.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of the EH&S Management System including policies, business processes and prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety and handle all contact with appropriate agencies.
  • Establish measurement and routine business reporting of EH&S objectives, goals, strategies, and key performance indices in conjunction with affected business groups.
  • Manage corporate and site level environmental health and safety teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Provide site level representation with third parties, including neighboring businesses, local councils, and regulatory bodies including HSE and the Environment Agency
  • Develop and manage EHS team, creating a robust internal talent pipeline and retaining an engaged workforce through coaching, 1:1s, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Oversee the Health and Safety operations in Minnesota to promote a culture of safety.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • EHS Management experience in chemically intensive manufacturing industry.
  • Technical experience in occupational health and safety with a strong emphasis in chemical safety / compatibility.
  • 2 - 7 plus years of experience 
  • Ability to apply EH&S and regulatory knowledge to business decisions including the development of implementation plans for applicable requirements.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and manage effective change relative to EH&S aspects associated with people changes, equipment and process changes.
  • Ability to build, motivate and lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, with a focus on measurable results.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and industry EH&S related standards.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including mastery knowledge of Microsoft suite (excel, word, power-point) skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering, CIH, CSP, OHST, GSP or other certifications preferred ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 program development preferred.

  • Technical experience in occupational health and safety with a strong emphasis in chemical safety / compatibility. 
  • Ability to apply EHS and regulatory knowledge to business decisions including the development of implementation plans for applicable requirements. 

  • Strong ability to negotiate and manage effective change relative to EH&S aspects associated with people changes, equipment and process changes. 

  • Ability to build, motivate and lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, with a focus on measurable results. 

  • Can recognize the need, and effectively escalate in the event of conflict or misalignment threatens the success of a project. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and drive message on complex content, in front of peers. 

  • Has experience and knowledge in the area of environmental management including, but not limited to Water, Air, Waste and ISO 14001. 

 

The annual salary range for this role is $108,400 - $162,600.  Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
