Position Summary:

SkyWater Advanced Packaging Business Unit is looking to hire a BU Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This role will lead the technical vision, technology strategy and roadmap for our advanced packaging offering.

This role will report to the SVP and GM of advanced packaging and will oversee technology roadmap definition, technical product planning, be the technical interface to customers, and focal point with academic institutions, R&D centers and eco system partners. 

This key position will provide technical insight and leadership, working closely with engineering (process development & integration, equipment engineering) as well as product management and marketing, and will have a broad reach and influence throughout the organization in all technical matters.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Technology Strategy and Innovation:  Shaping and maintaining an executable strategic plan that meshes with the technology roadmaps and business growth plans. This involves staying abreast of technology trends or emerging technologies, assessing their relevance to the business, and recommending innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.
  • Internal Research and Development (R&D) Investments: incubating new technologies and fostering a culture of creativity and exploration within the organization.
  • Product Development: Growing and/or establishing capability consistent with the overall strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of technology products aligned with business goals. This includes providing oversight to the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch.
  • Strategic Partnerships:  Grow SkyWater advanced packaging ecosystem by forging strategic partnerships with technology vendors, suppliers, startups, academia and industry leaders. This will require an outward and visible presence at conferences, industry consortia, panels, and other bodies to promote SkyWater technical roadmap and advanced packaging solutions offering. 
  • Strategic Customer Relationship: Forming close relationships with key customers and partners executives, with an eye towards identifying roadmap intercepts, technical collaborations, and joint developments opportunities.
  • Sales and Applications Enablement: Working with engineering teams on technical problem solving and troubleshooting. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material science or other equivalent engineering field. 
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of technical experience in relevant domains.
    • Proven strategic leadership and track record of accomplishment in a multi-location, high growth organization.
  • Citizenship: US Citizen required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material science or other equivalent engineering field
  • Experience:
    • A record of scholarly achievement and Subject Matter mastery in the form of publications and patents.
    • A broad business background, including P&L, operations, sales, applications, marketing, quality, M&A, and strategy.

The annual salary range for this role is $226,400 - $339,600.  Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
