Technical Marketing Engineer
Position Summary:
As a S90 Platform Marketing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, optimization and go to market activities for technologies underpinning SkyWater’s thermal imaging and high reliability businesses. You will be responsible for driving future roadmap discussions to keep pace with industry requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of semiconductor technologies and thermal imaging platform architecture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet performance, power, and reliability requirements. One must also be able to effectively communicate existing capabilities to external customers to support sales opportunity pursuits. They will also be responsible for developing marketing and sales collateral and support website updates.
Responsibilities:
- Own product/platform requirements needed to execute on market strategies set by the Market Business Leaders
- Responsible for translating target market requirements from the Market Business Leaders into platform requirements
- Publish, maintain and manage living platform roadmap for internal and external use
- Support strategic alignment of product roadmaps and market strategies
- Supports qualification and development of strategic business opportunities
- Performs competitive benchmarking and perpetually collects information to find opportunities to differentiate technology offerings
- Act as product owner for the S90 technology offering and speak to internal and external audiences with authority on capabilities, and application dynamics
- Collaborate with sales and legal teams during contract negotiations to ensure terms are aligned with company policies and objectives.
Key Goal/Objectives/Activities:
- Research, collect, understand, and communicate the technology platform needs and requirements to enable pursuit of thermal imaging market segment
- Communicate, train, and update the sales force on technology capabilities, new developments and platform roadmaps
- Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications and customers for products to meet customer needs
- Support efforts to provide technical product collateral materials, apps notes, technical articles, etc.
- Support customer journey mapping and identify offering market and product requirements based on unique attributes of target market
- Perform technology benchmarking to analyze competitor offerings, strategies or value propositions of alternative solutions
- Track technology development initiatives on technology platform roadmaps
- Attend and participate in industry events to collect information about customers, competitors, markets and industry dynamics
- Support business development and sales leaders as needed to help communicate platform capabilities and value to prospective customers
- The job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or demonstrable expertise in semiconductor processing technology or IC design flows
- 10+ years’ experience in the microelectronics, material science or related industry
- Familiarity of microfabrication technologies
- Familiarity with ROIC microelectronics fabrication processes
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of current and relevant markets preferred but not required; experience supporting a manufacturing or technology business preferred
- Proficient Microsoft Office user
- U.S. Citizen Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
- Travel Requirements: 15% travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience as an analog or mixed-signal ASIC designer
- Experience as a project/program manager
- Experience working for a foundry services business
- Highly proficient computer skills and internet with developed skills in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
