Position Summary:  As a member of the SkyWater Information Technology team, the Senior System Administrator is a hands-on contributor role responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems. You will be one of the leaders that will modernize our environment enabling us to deliver highly available systems. This role will have significant input into new technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be part of a team that manages and maintains our VMWare environment and effectuates standards and best practices of operations.
  • Be part of a team that manages and maintains our NetApp environment and effectuates standards and best practices of operations.
  • Maintain systems and tools including patching, config changes, and monitoring.
  • Maintain and support new and existing physical and virtual servers on multiple operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows, VMWARE) including patching and monitoring.
  • Responsible for performance tuning of business-critical systems.
  • Participate in strategic planning. Provide substantial input into the infrastructure roadmap.
  • Proactively ensure the highest infrastructure availability on-premise and within the cloud.
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive backup strategy to deliver file recovery to DR scenario for business continuity.
  • Manage identity, federated, and compliance platforms, including PKI, ADFS, MFA, IAM, and DLP.
  • Plan and implement systems automation.
  • Optimize physical and virtual server infrastructure across the organization.
  • Plan and implement new equipment\software rollouts.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades.
  • Assist with network-related troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain server infrastructure documentation.
  • Liaison with stakeholders for new system design and implementation.
  • Build and maintain scripts to automate current manual processes.
  • Mentor junior-level staff.

Required Qualifications

Experience and/or Education:

  • 7+ yrs experience as IT Systems Admin\Engineer: Preferably within 500+ employee org.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Preferred)
  • Solid Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, and Google (IDCS a plus).
  • Experience with server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
  • De-duplication, NetApp storage admin, and VMWare admin experience.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • Cisco compute, blade, and standalone (or related) experience.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMWARE, Hyper-V).
  • System monitoring tools and data collection (Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk)
  • Comprehensive backup strategy (prefer in cloud solutions).
  • Authentication technologies and frameworks (MFA, OAuth, SAML)
  • Active Directory experience
  • Helpful but not required:
    • Relevant certifications a plus
    • Scripting skills a plus (PowerShell, Java, Perl, Python)
    • DBA experience a plus but not required (Oracle, SQL Server)
    • Experience with Azure Server Management and Azure Automation Desired State Configuration a plus
