Our Senior CMP Tool Engineer is the equipment and process tool owner for Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) equipment to support advanced technology development and production. This role leads equipment performance and process support for a key set of CMP tools to enable the development and fabrication of exciting new technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Primary tool owner for Tungsten, Oxide and other material polishing tools used for advanced technology development.
- Monitor equipment performance, identify root cause to problems, and fix tools.
- Coordinate internal, external, and vendor resources to support equipment. Including equipment installation/de-installation projects, and standard maintenance activities.
- Maximize overall tool performance through analysis of tool performance data and monitoring (FDC and SPC).
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and provide technical solutions to yield problems.
- Provide process and recipe set up support for technology development.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment to support production goals; plan PMs (priority scheduling, training maintenance technicians, performance, documentation, reliability).
- Support new device introduction, technology transfer projects.
- Drive continuous improvement activities in maximizing wafer outputs, reduce defectivity, cost reduction, and stop loss reduction.
- Provide weekend and night shift equipment coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years combined experience in an engineering role in a semiconductor, or similar, manufacturing environment and relevant educational experience
- Experience with application of structured problem-solving methodology
- Positive interpersonal skills, highly energetic and self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results
- Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously and shift priorities to meet business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of engineering experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
- In depth experience with CMP Semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- High level understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Fault Detection and classification (FDC)
US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
