Lithography Process Development Engineer
Summary:
In the Advanced Technology Services (ATS) group at SkyWater, our team works hand in hand with customers to develop a wide range of exciting new, novel, and fully customized technologies - including superconducting ICs, quantum computing devices, carbon nanotube devices, MEMs, Bio sensors, DNA sequencing devices, Si photonics, and III-V devices.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead process development using multiple column e-beam lithography techniques to fabricate features below the resolution limit of 193nm photolithography and enable on-wafer die-die stitching.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize new photolithography processes (coat, develop, exposure) in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with process and equipment engineers to develop and optimize new processes and find/fix process marginalities.
- Work closely with integration engineers to design experiments to characterize process.
- Communicate process development progress with integration engineers and external customers regularly.
- Setup new photolithography metrology recipes (Overlay, CDSEM).
- Develop OPC models to optimize photo conditions.
- Work with customers and CAD engineers to define design rules, fab metrology structures, parametric test structures and product mask sets.
- Validate physical inline process specs to ensure successful device performance and yield.
- Investigate and implement process changes for improved device performance, yield improvement, and process stability.
- The job also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each position.
- Can work both independently and in cross-functional teams for problem solving.
Required Qualifications:
- Semiconductor fab tool processing knowledge and experience, especially in photolithography.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Eng, Chemical Eng, or related discipline with minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of DOE, SPC, and 6-sigma concepts and applications.
- Clear problem-solving capability, data driven, inventive solution oriented and can clearly articulate thought processes in verbal and written communication.
- Project Management skills and/or defined training.
- Positive interpersonal skills, highly energetic, and self-motivated, & able to work on cross-functional teams.
- This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
- Experience planning and executing new process development activities while managing project milestone completion and schedule.
US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: MS or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Eng, Chemical Eng, or related discipline
