Simon & Schuster seeks a Contracts Coordinator. The role will focus primarily on preparation of pre-production copyright pages, ensuring timely and accurate filings of copyright registration applications, maintaining records, and liaising with internal departments. The Coordinator will be integral in keeping the workflow of the Contracts Department moving effectively and efficiently and must be reliable and steady under pressure.
Core responsibilities of this position include managing the submission of copyright registration applications, tracking the status of filings, and maintaining accurate copyright records in S&S systems. The Coordinator will also be responsible for researching copyright-related inquiries, assisting with the rights reversion process, and providing guidance on copyright matters to other departments as needed.
This person must be able to manage multiple ongoing tasks, prioritize effectively, and be highly detail-oriented. They should be tech-savvy, highly motivated, and possess strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills and be physically able to move boxes of books (received and shipped for copyright registration).
This is not a remote-working position, this position is primarily in-office at our NYC headquarters, with the potential for occasional remote work.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
