Position Overview:
The Audience Insights Manager will support the Director of Audience Insights in building a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior and cultural trends. In this role, you will use a variety of data tools to gather insights on audiences, monitor social media, analyze search and sales data, and help drive actionable insights to support corporate marketing and the imprints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cultural trend analysis and track consumer behavior to support content development and marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with imprints to provide author deep dives, category analysis, market and consumer trends, and audience insights to inform marketing, editorial, and publicity efforts.
- Monitor social media and perform sentiment analysis, providing insights to inform campaign decisions.
- Analyze engagement metrics for online platforms and blogs.
- Leverage sales and readership data to provide insights on market performance and consumer preferences.
- Support in the development of a reader segmentation program to help drive a consumer-led mindset at S&S and to give marketing teams a common language around audiences.
- Present audience insights and research findings to internal stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decision-making in both corporate marketing and the imprints.
- Collaborate with various teams to provide real-time insights that influence marketing strategies, content development, and author engagement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or audience analysis.
- Familiarity with tools such as Audiense, Crowdtangle, Helium10, Meltwater, Buzzsumo, Moz, Circana, Bookstat, and Edelweiss.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from diverse data sets.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with social media listening, market trend analysis, and consumer behavior research.
- Interest in the publishing industry or experience in a media-related field is a plus.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
