Job Overview
This is a role within the distribution center of Simon & Schuster, a 100-year-old company with offices around the world, that is also the only US owned book publishing house. For this role we are seeking experience Material Expeditor.
What you will be doing on a daily basis
- Modify inventory as needed
- Use the Order Selector and Drexel equipment as necessary.
- Keep up with and monitor sign-out sheets and equipment checklists.
- Arranging and filing necessary documents
- Adhere to and support all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Additional tasks as designated
Some requirements:
- Understanding and willingness to train on equipment such as Cherry Pickers, Reach Trucks, Forklifts, and Electric Pallet Jacks.
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
- Ability to handle 50+ pounds.
- You must have careful attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Some analytical experience is preferable.
- You must have the ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day
Shift and Schedule:
- Our distribution facility operates in 3 shifts and this particular role is part of the Second shift, working Monday - Friday (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM). There is an opportunity for overtime as well.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
