Simon & Schuster is seeking a Financial Systems Manager for its royalties division in Parsippany.  Specific responsibilities will include:

 

  • Managing the configuration, testing, and deployment and maintenance of financial systems.
  • Ensuring data integrity and completeness within financial systems.
  • Generating reports and assists in the analysis of financial data.
  • Implementing system changes and enhancements.
  • Performing all weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc system functions including but not limited to forecasting packages, data loads, and flash reporting.
  • Maintaining GL account and Imprint hierarchy in GL and consolidation systems.
  • Maintaining shared services groups and user security.
  • Reconciling data loaded with submitting financial system.
  • Monthly, ensure forecast P&L's, Balance Sheets and cash flow items are properly updated in TM-1 for international affiliates.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS, Accounting preferred
  • 7 plus years of progressive experience with financial reporting system and subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
  • Superior knowledge and advanced skills in Excel, Word, Access, and Cognos.
  • Experience and advanced skills in using enterprise accounting ledger systems including Oracle, and financial reporting systems such as TM-1.
  • Experience with GAAP and ability to research and interpret financial reports.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Assertive and good communicator (Written and Oral).
  • Independent with proven project management skills and successes.
  • Solid Interpersonal skills as position requires interaction with the various business units and international affiliates.

 

This is a Hybrid role, 2 days/week in the Parsippany office will be required.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
