This newly created position, reporting directly to the Editorial Director, requires a motivated, highly creative editor who will contribute to development of the imprint. This position will take the creative lead developing new and existing IP projects in formats spanning chapter books, middle grade series and various other formats. In addition to expanding IP title base, this editor will be tasked with developing branded character and series programs created from characters from the backlist, as well as searching for new properties that can be developed into new worlds for readers to explore for the preschool audience. 

 

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have strong writing skills, experience with multiple formats, and experience in a range of markets, from preschool to middle grade.
  • The candidate should be able to work independently in fast-paced imprint.
  • At least 8 years' experience in commercial publishing for children.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable.
