Job Description: Assistant Teaching Professor, Chemistry
Sacred Heart University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, starting Fall 2025. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and teaching a multi-section course in general, organic, and biochemistry designed for nursing majors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all lecture and lab sections for the assigned course.
- Develop, update, and maintain curriculum consistency across sections.
- Provide instructional content and support for learning lab tutors.
- Address student inquiries and offer academic guidance as needed.
- Meet regularly with the department chair to discuss course progress, challenges, and improvements.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered).
- Proven potential for excellence in teaching and fostering a collaborative, collegial learning environment.
- Significant prior teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
