Assistant Professor, Economics (Tenure-Track)
Job Description
The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant faculty position in the Economics program starting August 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and forward-thinking academic community at a university that values both teaching excellence and scholarship. The teaching load is 3-3, and the field of expertise is flexible, with a particular interest in candidates specializing in applied macroeconomics. Candidates with a background in applied microeconomics will also be considered. As a faculty member, you will primarily teach principles and upper-level undergraduate economics courses in applied econometrics, microeconomics or macroeconomics and/or your field of specialization.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excitement about creating meaningful learning experiences and engaging students in both theory and practice.
- A Ph.D. in Economics is required (ABD candidates will be considered if degree completion is expected by August 2025).
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Clear potential for high quality contributions to academic scholarship.

SHU’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology is AACSB-accredited and enrolls over 2,000 students. It is housed on SHU’s West Campus, approximately one mile from the main campus.
