Position Summary
Promote the visit program to successfully increase the number of full-time prospective students enrolling in and graduating from Sacred Heart University and meet the recruitment and retention goals identified by the University’s Strategic Plan.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Manage the campus experience team to ensure daily coverage of phone lines and the front desk. Oversee the training of all campus experience personnel, focusing on excellence in customer service.
- Coordinate with IT on the management of our phone lines and the university phone tree.
- Manage the planning and execution of the campus visit experience for undergraduate admission.
- Coordinate all on-campus, off-campus, and virtual programming (Open Houses, Program Information Sessions, Guidance/Independent counselor visits, yield events, off-campus regional events, virtual Q&As/Chats, etc.)
- Ensure the visit program initiatives remain within operating budget constraints in collaboration with the Sr. Associate Director of Campus Experience.
- Liaison with Chartwells Dining Services, Public Safety, Campus Operations, and Meyers Moving for all event-related needs.
- Ensure room reservations in the university system for all undergraduate admissions needs.
- Collaborate with Strategic Enrollment Communications to develop and execute visitation communication across various platforms – website, print, phone, email, and social media – to increase visitors to campus.
- Execute initiatives that enable the visit program to contribute directly to enrollment yield.
- Provide research analysis on a weekly, monthly, semester-long, and yearly basis regarding activities and responsibilities related to the campus visit.
- Present information sessions to prospective families and students about Sacred Heart University before campus tours
- Gain knowledge and keep up to date with Slate software or applicable CRM.
Planning and Research
- Attend recruitment events, such as open houses and admitted student days, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
- Attend regional receptions held in assigned territory that the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts.
- Greet families and be available to promote and answer questions on Sacred Heart University that students may have.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
- A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is necessary.
- Candidates should have experience in the college admissions process and event management.
- Ability and willingness to enthusiastically support Sacred Heart University’s Catholic identity, tradition, spirit, and commitment to the moral and ethical development of all students.
- Possess high-level communication skills to express, both orally and in writing, the mission and recruiting goals of the University.
- An appreciation of the role of all recruitment areas – athletics, financial aid, career development, student life, academics, and the ability to bring smooth coordination to their work, regardless of their organizational location.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with the Dean, counselors, faculty, administrators, students, alumni, community leaders, and volunteers.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the admissions team and the ability to develop effective short-range strategic plans.
- Enthusiasm, drive, motivational ability, willingness to take risks, competitive spirit, intellectual depth, moral integrity, vision, energy, and creativity; ability to think outside the box and multitask.
- Must possess knowledge of computers and an understanding of the potential of technology to facilitate the admissions function and improve internal communications within the University and external communication.
- Strong commitment to liberal arts education
Unusual Working Conditions
Later evening hours and weekends/holidays are required.
