DHCON Faculty Position – Post BSN to DNP (FNP track) Program (Full Time Position)
Job Description:
The Dr. Susan L. Davis, RN, & Richard Henley College of Nursing at Sacred Heart University is seeking applicants whose primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Post BSN to DNP hybrid program with a focus on family nurse practitioner. Our faculty also teach in the PM DNP Hybrid program with an emphasis on either leadership or education. Candidates with expertise in primary care, pediatrics, and/or women's health are encouraged to apply.
We are currently searching for a 9-month faculty appointment with rank and tenure commensurate with background and experience.
The candidate should be current in clinical practice as a nurse practitioner. Doctoral clinical project advisement will be required. Faculty will be assigned to hybrid courses that require on campus day-long intensives and online portions as well as on campus College of Nursing committee representation. Flexibility and a willingness to teach summer courses is required. Faculty must be local to the university so that they can be available for office hours and faculty meetings and other necessary faculty functions.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Current registered nurse and advance practice nurse practitioner licenses in Connecticut.
- Current national board certification as a family nurse practitioner.
- Current APRN clinical experience, preferably as a primary care provider
- Doctoral degree in nursing or related field required.
- Previous teaching experience in a family nurse practitioner program required.
- Online teaching experience.
