The College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of Languages and Literature invite applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position of assistant professor of English, beginning August 2025. The position requires teaching 24-credit hours in courses for the English major and the writing program, including courses in the Foundational and Core programs. Responsibilities include scholarship and publication, student advising, excellence in teaching, and service to the department and University, including other departmental needs. This position requires in-person teaching.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a PhD in English or related fields. Experience in Irish literature and Irish Studies is particularly welcome. Candidates should have a record of successful teaching at the college level, including excellent student evaluations and peer classroom evaluations. We are looking for candidates who have a commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their commitment in supporting diverse communities, teaching multicultural texts, and engaging in diverse voices.
