Assistant Clinical Professor/Associates Degree in Radiography Program Director, College of Health Professions
The Associates Degree in Radiography program in the Department of Health Sciences at Sacred Heart University seeks a 12-month full time program director (Assistant Clinical Professor rank) to be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the associate degree in radiography, including course scheduling; supervision of program outcomes assessment; curriculum and strategic planning and development; faculty and staff recruitment, development, supervision, and evaluation; student recruitment, admissions and retention; management of budget.
The program director responsible for providing general oversight of program offerings on campus and in community clinical partnership sites, to include responsibility for structured guidance around consistency of practices in curriculum delivery and risk management.
Reporting to the Chair of Health Sciences, the Program Director is expected to:
- Ensure curricular alignment with SHU's mission, vision, strategic plan and institutional learning outcomes as well as state and national standards
- Lead hiring of faculty
- Conduct faculty annual performance evaluations
- Implement a program of faculty development
- Manage faculty credit releases and credit load
- In collaboration with the Chair and program faculty, develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve enrollment goals, service learning, student and faculty achievements, and other metrics
- Coordinate program accreditation applications and renewals and program activity reporting including assessment of outcomes
- Establish annual objectives for the program consistent with the institutional mission and university and college strategic plans
- Exercise fiscal responsibility to administer program budget
- Oversee personnel, admission, curriculum, scheduling, and assessment functions within the program
- Lead program advisory committee meetings
- Collaborate with MARCOM on outreach, marketing, & recruiting activities
- Supervise the representation of the Program at University admission events
- Coordinate course schedules, skills lab and clinical activities
- Teaches contracted number of credits in the radiography program during academic year
- Perform other related duties as assigned, flexible working hours to accommodate program needs
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution;
- Must hold a current unrestricted certification and active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) or Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.);
- Three years of clinical experience in the professional discipline;
- Two years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum design/development, evaluation, instruction, program administration, clinical coordination and academic advising.
- Experience in teaching, training, and leadership in the field of radiology.
- Management experience in the medical field.
- Higher education teaching and administration experience is preferred.
