Cash Operations Coordinator I - Full Time - San Diego Zoo Safari Park

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Cash Operations Coordinator I verifies that monies deposited balance with sales reporting system receipts and assures resolution of discrepancies. This position reports to the Cash Operations Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Counts cash, checks, and charge account drafts using automated counting systems.
• Reconciles vault funds, ensuring appropriate balances are maintained.
• Maintains daily balances for automated cash recycling machines.
• Enters reconciled totals into the accounting system ensuring integrity of data.
• Categorizes monies received from revenue generating operations using established procedures.
• Prepares bank deposits including processing checks for payment.
• Makes change and prepares funds for cash register operations.
• Identifies cash discrepancies and communicates to appropriate managers and/or departments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• JOB EXPERIENCE
• Experience in a high-volume cash handling operation preferred. 

• EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma Required. 

• SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Must have advanced mathematical capability to handle cash, count, reconcile and process cash transaction.
• Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs.
• Demonstrated ability to handle data accurately.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other team members in a diverse environment.

• Hourly Range: $17.49 - $19.47
