Sauder has an opening for a Client Technologies Technician. This individual will install and support a wide variety of client devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, printers), operating systems (Windows, MAC, etc.), and software solutions. They will become part of a dynamic and fun team that works together to deliver reliable IT services to the business. The team supports 1,500+ devices and multiple business divisions.

 

This role is full-time, on-site to support all areas of the organization. Hours for this role will be 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares tests and installs or assists vendor service personnel in installation and maintenance of end-user computer hardware and software.
  • Provides support or assistance to other IT personnel as requested.
  • Coordinates activities with manager, business unit team, help desk, network services, or other information system groups and/or end-users.
  • Establishes and follows appropriate priorities of task assignments.
  • Provides status updates and completion information to appropriate parties via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communications.
  • Instructs end-users in use of equipment and software.
  • Troubleshoots end-user hardware/software problems and network connectivity.
  • Identifies/recommends solutions to end-user hardware/software issues.
  • Understands and follows department escalation guidelines and procedures.
  • Supports, maintains, and documents corporate desktop systems, including asset management activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining desktop licensing compliance, including following all procedures established to ensure this compliance.
  • Accurately and consistently records activities in the Help Desk Call Logging System.
  • Involved in the installation and rollout of new software packages, upgrades and new desktop hardware.
  • Supports mobile workforce.
  • Participates in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implements prototypes.

 

Help Desk Support

  • Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computer related technologies. 
  • Performs root cause analysis and develops checklists for typical problems.
  • Covers one 2-hour shift per day (Mon-Fri)
  • On call for off hours approximately one day per week (Mon-Fri)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree, OR Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience, OR Combination of education and experience.
  • Preference for experience with client device support tools such as MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) and Endpoint Security Tools

 

PAY SUMMARY

Expected offer: $54,000 - $71,000/year. The actual salary will be based on factors such as relevant experience and skills. The max salary listed is not the top of the salary band.
