Purpose

 

The maintenance planner/scheduler is a key member of the maintenance leadership team and is primarily responsible for developing job plans and scheduling jobs down to the day and shift level. Other responsibilities include the PM and PdM programs within the CMMS, tracking key metrics, as well as 3rd party contractor management.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluate and update job plans for all medium to long-term jobs.
    • Some jobs will require walking down to the jobsite to make the following assessments:
      • Determine priority of the job based on failure risk.
      • Determine the number of technicians required to complete the job and how many hours per technician.
      • Determine what parts and quantities are required to complete the job.
      • Determine if the job can be completed during production or if a shutdown is required.
  • Responsible for maintaining the asset criticality ranking for all assets in the facility in the CMMS.
  • Owner of the preventative maintenance (PM) program in the CMMS
    • Works to continuously improve all PM schedules based on data analysis of failure rates.
    • Works to continuously improve all PM procedures to clarify procedure tasks and update target times.
    • Remove time-based tasks as failure modes are expanded to be covered by PdM condition-based monitoring.
  • Owner of the predictive maintenance program (PdM) in the CMMS. This includes but is not limited to: infrared testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, and ultrasonic frequency testing.
    • Works to continuously improve the PdM program based on failure rate data
  • “Point person” for initiating and facilitating 3rd party contractor job quoting and scheduling.
  • Responsible for scheduling work down to the day and shift level
    • Initially for all shutdowns, but eventually will expand for work that can be completed during production runs.
    • Leads the bi-weekly work scheduling meetings and adjusts the schedule based on feedback and direction given in the meeting.
  • System administrator activities as needed for the CMMS.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Previous experience in an industrial maintenance planning role preferred.
    • Food industry experience is a plus.
  • Computer literate
    • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience working within a CMMS preferred.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communications skills
  • Understanding of common maintenance MRO items (bearings, sprockets, chains, O-rings, etc.)
  • Availability to go to company sponsored training to comprehend and apply the lessons learned.
