You’ll follow established recipes to produce soups in larger quantities, prepare ingredients, and operate cooking equipment like kettles and mixers.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow food safety regulations, including HACCP and USDA standards. Keep the cooking area spotless and ensure all equipment is thoroughly cleaned.
- Record Keeping: Document cooking processes, ingredient batches, and temperatures to ensure consistency and safety in each batch.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sanitize cooking equipment and work areas between batches to prevent cross-contamination.
- Team Support: Collaborate with other cooks and the Lead Soup Cook to maintain smooth production flow and quality control.
Important Considerations for Candidates:
- Food Allergies: This role involves handling various ingredients, including allergens such as dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten. Please ensure you are comfortable working in an environment with these ingredients.
- Religious Dietary Restrictions: We handle various food products, including meats (pork, beef, poultry), seafood, and dairy. If you have specific dietary restrictions due to religious beliefs, please review the job requirements carefully to ensure you can work with these ingredients.
Training and Development:
- Initial Training: Comprehensive training will be provided on your first day at our New Oxford, PA location.
- Additional Training: After successful initial training, you’ll travel to our Medina, OH, facility for a one-week specialized training session to enhance your skills and understanding of our processes.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior experience in a food production environment is preferred.
- Skills: Following detailed cooking instructions and adhering to safety protocols. Basic math skills are essential for adjusting recipes and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently lift to 30 lbs., and work in varying temperature conditions.
Essential Functions:
- Cooking Operations: Manage multiple cooking tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict safety and quality guidelines.
- Physical Tasks: Safely navigate the production area, handle ingredients, and operate equipment independently.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Benefits: Enjoy health, vision, dental insurance, and a 401K plan with company matches.
- Paid Time Off: PTO and vacation time available after 90 days.
- Shift Differential: Earn additional pay for working the 2nd shift.
