Materials Engineering Intern - 1st shift
Role Purpose:
The Intern's primary responsibility will be to work on a project directed toward either product/test improvement or research. These projects will be in the Huron Test Engineering group. The project is determined by the Intern in collaboration with the Engineering team. Projects within the Test Engineering Group may be centered on programming-related projects or test creation/optimization projects.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
1. Follow the directions of the Engineers.
2. Ability to analyze data using Excel and Minitab.
3. Preparation of material samples.
4. Physical testing of materials.
5. Dummy assembly testing or full dummy testing.
6. Programming under the direction of Engineers. Performs other related duties as assigned.
7. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern is required to prepare and present in person to the management team on their experience at Humanetics.
Physical Demands
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting at a desk for prolonged periods.
Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Travel
Possible travel to Michigan facility.

Education and/or Experience: 2-year technical degree required (or actively pursuing 4-year technical degree) Bachelor's degree (B.S.) technical preferred.
