The Senior Technical Solutions Specialist – Field Services, Sports & Live Events is a part of the Sports Venue and Live Entertainment vertical on the Global Sales team at Ross, with the focus being on increasing sales of Ross Video technology in these market spaces. This key role requires a unique blend of engineering, on-site services, and customer facing “soft skills”. This is a diverse role that reports directly to the Senior Technical Solutions Manager, Sports & Live Events – Global, and interacts frequently with Ross Customers, Business Partners, Services, and Technical Support teams to ensure that solutions in the field are continually supported, and that a superior customer experience is maintained long after the initial sale and project deployment.

What the job is all about:
- Maintaining awareness of future sales opportunities in the SLE vertical, particularly those involving unique technical challenges and solutions that may require a higher level of post-sale support
- Post-sale support for SLE customers:
- Working closely with Ross Video Technical Support Teams to triage customer issues in the SLE vertical market and identify patterns and trends that need to be communicated to the various product teams.
- Set up test cases and workflow simulations to reproduce customer issues and help verify potential bugs or workflow issues reported by customers
- Travel to customer sites when required to observe, troubleshoot and assist with complex workflow and technical issues
- Report project observations and document concerning trends, to help R&D proactively address issues before they become more widespread and/or mitigate critical and urgent issues in the field.
- Assist with the creation of documentation and guides for customers to help them maintain their systems, and stay informed on unique or complex workflows that may be specific to their deployment
- On a global scale, the Senior Technical Solutions Specialist – Field Services will be a valuable internal resource of product and workflow knowledge that can assist in a variety of ways, including:
- Answering technical questions related to pre-sales activities
- Sharing observations and technical expertise with other Ross team members using similar products in other verticals
- While not a primary responsibility, the Senior Technical Solutions Specialist – Field Services may also be called upon to participate in certain pre-sales activities:
- Engaging in customer-facing product presentations, demos, training, and workflow guidance to end-users and business partners at customer sites or trade shows.
- Acts as a “Technical Evangelist” to help build trust and inspiration with our partners and customers.
- Performs other related duties, as required.
Who you are:
- Minimum 5 years of combined broadcast engineering, systems application, product specialist, or end user experience.
- Record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a customer-facing environment.
- Understanding of the Sports Venue Production Control Room, Live Venue Display, and Sports Broadcast workflows.
- Possesses strong knowledge of industry standard protocols, connectors and terminations.
- Possesses strong and creative problem-solving traits.
- Working knowledge of Graphics systems, Sports Data feeds, Playback Servers, Production Switchers, Scalers, Routers, Device Control protocols, and the roles they play in various applications.
- Existing knowledge and use of Ross Video products, particularly Graphics, Dashboard, Switchers and Hyperconverged Solutions.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills; both in-person, virtually, written and verbally.
- Ability to work co-operatively with and across all company departments.
- Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Multi-media or a related field would be an asset.

- Willing to Travel up to 50% of the time (North America) to annual sports-related trade shows and industry events, as required.
