What the job is all about:
To champion the Production Switcher product line, while maintaining a deep, hands-on understanding of the technology under the supervision of the DPM.
Assists in the execution of and/or participation in technical marketing activities related to the product line, including but not limited to:
Product Marketing
- Ensure the creation and technical accuracy of: promotional literature, catalog, website, and other customer-facing content
- Create or collaborate in the creation of video tutorials for training and marketing purposes
- Participate in trade show planning and execution
- Collaborate with DPM on sales and user experience programs
Sales Support
- Participate in key customer presentations and proofs-of-performance
- Work with the sales team to design effective workflows in the pre-sales process
- Engage in competitive analysis of operational capabilities and pricing
- Generate Targeted Value Propositions – Competitive, Vertical, Key Account and Large Opportunity
- Create sales kits, presentations and product awareness “tips” in collaboration with the DPM
- Assist RSM’s and BDM’s with responses to tender documents and other technical questions
Product Development
- Attend weekly Team meetings and share technical / operational observations and key insights
- Work with the Development Team on product value proposition, roadmap, development priorities, product improvement – based on industry/user feedback pain/insight points
- Create Content / Documentation to ensure alignment on implementation.
- Work closely with the Tech Writing Team to review configuration guides, application notes, and user guides to help deliver strong user experience
- Produce workflow and use diagrams for use of the development team in understanding potential new sales/application opportunities.
- Work with the DPM on providing/creating R&D focused product application training
- Help to track and facilitate 3rd-party integration projects with the development and platform teams
- Consult regularly with Technical Product Management to make sure product plans are being carried out in an effective manner
Who you are:
- Post-secondary degree or trade school diploma in Media Field
- 5+ years of experience with broadcast equipment in pre or post-sales environments
- Production Switcher Experience an advantage
- Experience in selling and marketing broadcast equipment an asset
- Writing Short Form Content Explainer/Promotional for Web/Video/Social preferred
- Background in technical training is a plus
- Technical Director / Producer / Writing experience Favorable
- Video Editing, Story Telling, Content Creation Skills
- Knowledge of television production system design and operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio
- Knowledge of broadcast systems & IT workflows
- Background in programming, scripting, and databases is a plus
- Passionate about broadcast equipment solutions
- Able to take complex technical details and convey the information to others in an easy-to-understand manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Good teaching skills
- Strong interpersonal and observational skills
- Organized and very detail orientated
- Self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work under minimal supervision
