We are seeking an experienced FPGA developer to join the Graphite Switcher team.  Our group is responsible for implementing standalone Linux embedded and PC based Windows/Linux based products. The ideal candidate is a flexible problem solver that works well independently and in interdisciplinary teams. Here is the opportunity to join a team developing platforms which integrate a myriad of different video, audio and transport technologies for world-class media production solutions.

What the job is all about:

  • Promote, refine and develop challenging and innovative video processing and transport features
  • Develop RTL for high performance realtime media processing systems involving high bandwidth media interfaces to memory, PCIe and hardware accelerated processing functions
  • Implement realtime transport protocols in FPGA designs including SDI and SMPTE 2110
  • Be involved in the architecture by reviewing schematic designs, advising on density of FPGA functions, thermal design, clocking etc.
  • Create complete IO ring designs for Stratix-10/Ultrascale+/MPSoC/Agilex FPGAs to verify pin-outs and IP in Quartus and Vivado
  • Develop high-level design requirements, manage/negotiate key part selection, and support aggressive project scheduling
  • Generate both specification & design documentation to support cross functional team
  • Work with other members of the team to verify the functionality of FPGA & HW designs
  • Efficient and systematic debugging skills.
  • Assist in supporting other staff members as necessary through entire NPI process flow – including design, documentation, test, manufacturing and customer support

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum 5 years FPGA & HW development experience with expertise in Video/Audio technologies preferred
  • Intermediate - Senior level FPGA  design knowledge and experience across broad range of topics including:

                  -FPGA building blocks & system architecture

                  -High speed transceivers, clock domain analysis, & timing closure

  • Fluent in development languages used in FPGA design – Verilog, System Verilog, TCL scripting
  • Ability to create Verilog simulation testbenches and run VCS simulations
  • Expertise in current Xilinx & Altera devices and associated design and debugging tools
  • Knowledge of high-speed  serial interfaces using gigabit transceivers, DDR4/5 interfaces, HBM, and PLL’s
  • Excellent debugging skills & proficient with typical lab equipment (scopes, JBERTs, network analyzers, WFMs, etc)
  • Ability to work in an embedded environment.  Windows, Linux, bash, C/C++ and networking skills a plus
  • Knowledge of broadcast studio applications & workflow preferred; especially distribution / production systems a plus
  • Understanding of digital video and associated audio standards a plus
  • Signal Integrity knowledge a plus
  • Sound interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a team or independently as required
  • Keen observational skills and problem solving intuition
  • Self-starter with the tenacity to bring product to market
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and work towards finding creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Comfortable moving forward aggressively; balancing risks appropriately to optimize success across all business aspects – good, fast, and cheap
  • Equally comfortable contributing as a team member or championing an idea with upper management
