As the Principal Technical Lead, you are the technical leader for your product or products. You plan and oversee the development of solutions to allow our customers to achieve or exceed their business goals. In this technical role you are responsible and accountable for the implementation and quality of the products under your purview. You craft the architecture and design of your product to meet product goals in alignment with the practices and principals of our Senior Software Architects; you oversee the implementation to ensure architectural and code consistency; you ensure that best practices are being employed, all the while making certain that quality and security are primary considerations.
You coach, mentor, guide, and help nurture the development team (developers and testers) to realize its full potential and adopt our culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

- Ensuring a clear technical vision for your product is designed and understood by the team. Ensuring interoperability between integrated products.
- Ensuring technical debt is minimized in the product. Ensuring solutions meet divisional technical standards.
- Ensuring knowledge redundancy amongst the team members.
- Ensuring the product adheres to corporate free and open-source software. Ensuring best practices are established and maintained.
- Ensuring modernization of technology. Ensuring comprehensive onboarding resources.
- Developing towards shared understanding and certainty for predicting releases. Building a culture of technical excellence within the team.
- Capturing Ross Intellectual Property (trade secrets, patents, and copyright) throughout the development cycle.
- Identifying, documenting, submitting, and defending audits for government tax incentives and other technical credits.
- Write submissions for Canada's Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SRED) incentive program.
- Write quarterly updates for Canada's Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) incentive program. Write submissions for Netherland's Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk (WBSO) incentive program (Netherlands only).
- Participate in Production Workflow Leadership meetings. Participate in monthly R&D sync meetings.
- Participate in the Technical Excellence Community of Practice (TCoP). Participate in team leadership sessions.
- Attend yearly Ross strategic meetings, on some occasions. Complete items as part of release checklists for new software.
- Develop architecture documents, such as C4 diagrams, for your product(s). Be first point of contact for technical questions for your product(s).
