The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all fleet needs, including sourcing, hiring, and scheduling freelance drivers; managing routes; and tracking vehicle maintenance requirements and associated costs. This role ensures operational efficiency both on the road and while driving. The manager will also handle and complete all paperwork related to taxes and registrations, including monthly state tax use reporting, in support of the company’s fiscal responsibility goals. Additional duties may include communicating with department managers regarding transport activities, acting as a liaison with customers, and resolving conflicts as necessary.

What the job is all about:
- Ability to drive a Class A CDL Mobile Unit.
- Direct and oversee transportation-related operations for a fleet of at least ten production trucks
- Supervise staff that support fleet transportation
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations of DOT and freelance driver CDL license
- Fuel card management, including reporting, and ensuring timely payments
- State tax reporting, including IFTA registration
- Plan and schedule freelance drivers and daily/weekly routes based on ever-changing production events and shows
- Input schedules into internal asset management tool to ensure timely and proper payment for freelance drivers
- Monitor and report on transportation costs
- Manages maintenance schedules and repair needs for fleet
- Keeps organized records of vehicles, maintenance schedules, etc.
- Conduct or arrange vehicle inspections to be DOT compliant.
- Monitor driver qualifications and training, providing feedback as necessary
- Ensures compliance with company policies and any appropriate legislation
