River Edge is currently seeking a Part-time energetic and enthusiastic Crisis Response Clinician which will be contracted to provide services at the local hospital's Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will serve as a member within a community-based mental health team to provide comprehensive support services to individuals recovering from mental illness who require more assistance than typical outpatient services.
Location/Schedule: PART-TIME - evenings and weekends.
Saturday- Sunday8am-8pm and 8pm-8am
Monday-Friday - 4:30pm-8pm and 8pm-8am
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position will be working out of the local medical hospital, primarily in the ER, completing crisis assessments on patients who present with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
- Conducts crisis intervention assessments in prompt manner.
- Documents all pertinent case information in the clients file and electronic records per policy.
- Taking lead on implementing and monitoring clinical programming, individual, family, and group services; training; and activities related to optimizing the continuity of care for participants.
- Intervening in and assisting with complex clinical cases.
- Maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records, including case notes, treatment plan reviews, discharge planning, and Outcomes.
- Partner with MD, to determine if the patient needs inpatient placement, to facilitate that placement and complete the appropriate documentation.
- Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of River Edge's policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan, DBHDD requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social service field (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services) or related field
- Must have Associate License or Fully Licensed in either - LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LPC, LCSW) or license eligible.
- At least one (1) year of postmaster's experience providing mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise with the chronically mentally ill population.
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide 2 Professional reference Statements (Former employers only, no family members)
- Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in mental health and substance abuse services and community resources.
- Exemplify excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
